Patrick M. Frawley - Chief Executive Officer
Pat leads Community & Southern Bank with a commitment to the financial industry dating back to the early 1970s. He began his career working for the Comptroller of the Currency in a variety of key regulatory roles, including Director of Bank Supervision for the Southeast U.S. In 1986, Pat moved to the private sector at Citizens & Southern National Bank, then C&S/Sovran, NationsBank and Bank of America. After 15 years with multinational banks, Pat became CEO of two troubled community banks and earned a reputation as a turnaround specialist. He also ran a successful consulting firm that specialized in assisting banks facing severe regulatory and operational challenges. In 2008, Pat began the process of forming Community & Southern Bank, culminating in its first acquisition in 2010. Pat has a solid reputation as a respected voice in the financial services industry.
Mark A. Abernathy - President
A banking veteran with more than three decades of experience serving metropolitan, private, and community banks, Mark leads the development and execution of Community & Southern Bank plans encompassing organic growth strategies, operations and profit enhancement. Prior to joining CSB in February 2013, he served in multiple capacities for Mississippi-based Cadence Bank, most recently as Community Banking Executive Officer. During his tenure, he led bank mergers and recapitalization efforts for which his well-planned acquisitions built the company from $600 million to $2 billion in assets. He was previously employed with NationsBank of Tennessee in Nashville where he led three lines of business as Regional Executive Officer for Middle Tennessee. Central to all of Mark’s experiences and accomplishments are the principles of hard work, human resource development, customer centric decisions, and a focus on measureable results.
Stephen R. Stone - Chief Strategy Officer & General Counsel
Mr. Stone has been a member of the Community & Southern Bank executive management team since the Bank’s inception in January 2010. In his position as Chief Strategy Officer and General Counsel, Mr. Stone is responsible for mergers and acquisitions, legal matters, the Bank’s Resolution Management Group, strategic planning and special projects, regulatory operating agreements, and investor relations. Mr. Stone was formerly an attorney in the Financial Services and Products Group at the law firm of Alston & Bird, LLP in Atlanta, Georgia. While at Alston & Bird, Mr. Stone’s practice was focused primarily on public and private mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance transactions in the financial services industry. In particular, Mr. Stone specialized in mergers and acquisitions, capital raising and strategic transactions involving depository institutions, mortgage companies and REITs. Mr. Stone currently serves on the Board of Directors of CSB Investments, Inc., CSB Risk Management, Inc., and 21st Century Leaders. Mr. Stone received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia and received his law degree from the Washington College of Law at The American University, cum laude.
Anthony P. Valduga - Chief Financial Officer
Tony brings a deep background in financial institution finance and accounting to Community & Southern Bank. Having previously held positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP within the firm's Banking & Capital Markets practice, Tony has expertise advising both public and private financial institutions on a wide range of issues including mergers & acquisitions, public offerings and filings, FDIC-assisted transaction accounting and compliance and other complex finance and accounting related matters.
Todd Bogdan - Director of Bank Operations and Information Systems
With 25 years of banking experience, Todd leads CSB’s deposit operations, loan operations, and project management office. Before joining the leadership team in 2012, he served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Credit Officer for Georgia-based First Cherokee State Bank. In his career, Todd has been a leader in a broad array of roles, including retail banking, compliance, consumer lending, commercial lending, mortgage lending, operations, credit, and information technology. In addition to his current role with CSB, he is an active member and former chairperson of the IT/Operations Committee for the Georgia Bankers Association.
Jonathan (Jon) R. Boydstun - Chief Marketing Officer
Jon brings more than 36 years of banking experience to Community & Southern Bank. He has served in executive roles including Regional Manager of metropolitan bank branches in addition to community bank President, and Director of Marketing for a multi-billion dollar bank. Throughout his career, Jon has remained close to customers and understands the importance of meeting their unique needs. His passion for service excellence makes him a strong leader in the banking arena. He is responsible for developing and leading the execution of all marketing and retail sales strategies for Community & Southern Bank.
Tomeka Cherry - Director of Human Resources
Tomeka joins the CSB team with approximately 15 years of combined human resources experience gained through various employee relations management and talent acquisition roles. Most recently, Tomeka served as Human Resources Manager for Edelman Atlanta where she managed the daily responsibilities of the human resources functions throughout the Southeast. A graduate of Auburn University, Tomeka has held HR leadership positions with Career Sports and Entertainment, CH2M Hill and Turner Broadcasting. Tomeka’s ability to develop and execute talent growth and retention strategies will be key to the Georgia-based financial institution’s continued success. Tomeka is responsible for leading all human resources efforts across all of the bank’s regions, including operations and training. Under her leadership, the CSB team will continue to attract the quality professionals needed to deliver exceptional financial services to CSB’s customers.
David R. Edwards - Chief Credit Officer
David's career in banking began in Atlanta over 25 years ago with the Citizens & Southern National Bank. He spent 16 years with C&S through its transition to NationsBank and ultimately to Bank of America. After that, he worked for five years with a Synovus affiliate bank and then became a project manager working with the FDIC to resolve failed financial institutions. He has held a variety of senior level credit positions in his career. David offers expertise and leadership in all aspects of loan administration, including loan underwriting and monitoring, loan policy & procedure development, loan loss reserve analysis and problem asset resolution. He currently leads the credit team who is responsible for achieving pristine credit at Community & Southern Bank.
Don C. Hooper - Director of Real Estate Banking
Don brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in real estate and senior housing lending to Community & Southern Bank. During his career, he has served as a national bank examiner with the OCC and held various positions with Wachovia Bank, N.A. (formerly First Union National Bank), including Real Estate Credit Officer, Market Manager for the North Florida Real Estate Group and Executive Vice President - Florida Real Estate Banking.
Rick Ingram - Executive Vice President of Commercial Banking
As Community & Southern Bank (CSB)'s Commercial Banking Line of Business Executive, Rick Ingram is charged with providing leadership and assistance to the business and commercial lending banking teams. Ingram's focuses on creating mutually beneficial relationships with existing clients and new prospects, while providing exemplary customer service. He also actively collaborates with CSB's clients and partners to provide appropriate products and services and access to innovative financial resources.
Ingram earned both his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Business Administration from the University of Georgia. He has accumulated more than 31 years in the banking and finance industry. Prior to joining CSB, Ingram served in various industry roles for Wamu and SouthTrust/Wachovia. He has also performed as Senior Vice President of the Corporate Financial Center Administration.
Ingram is extremely active in his local community, often serving in roles that best utilize his career in banking and finance. His charitable fingerprint can be seen in: Reinhardt University's "A Day" program, the YWCA of Northwest Georgia, the Cherokee County YMCA, and as an active member of the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce.
James A. Pihera - Director of Enterprise Risk Management
Jim has over 30 years of compliance, regulatory and risk management experience in the financial services industry. He has held a variety of executive-level positions with financial firms including Bank of America, Deloitte & Touche and Regions Bank. Most recently, Jim was Chief Compliance Risk Officer for Regions Bank. Jim brings expertise to Community & Southern Bank's internal audit, compliance, BSA and loan review programs.
John A. Redmond - Director of Consumer Finance Group
John’s Banking career spans 28 years. He has served in various senior and executive level positions at NationsBank and Bank of America along with a number of smaller regional and community banks. John has both Retail and Commercial Banking experience and over the past 20 years John has applied these disciplines within the Automobile, Marine, Recreational Vehicle and Aircraft Industries. John was co-founder of New Beacon, LLC a nationwide Specialty Lending consumer loan origination company. John now leads Community & Southern Bank’s newly formed Specialized Consumer Lending operations.
Jeff Whittington - Chief Banking Officer
Jeff’s more than 25 years of experience has positioned him as a Southeastern banking industry leader. In Sept. 2012, he was announced as Chief Banking Officer for Community & Southern Bank’s executive team – capping off an already impressive professional resume. During his career Jeff has served management roles in commercial lending, deposit production, and regional banking operations. Jeff holds his bachelor’s degree in finance from Auburn University and his postgraduate degree from the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University (LSU).
